The Open Church Project empowers homeless and low-income individuals to own land, build community, and thrive — with affordable down payments in the hundreds and monthly payments as low as $50–$100.
🏡 The Open Church Project Model
We set up properties where homeless people and low-income families can own their own land and live in communities with restrooms, showers, lighting, internet, electric, trash, and water. A small down payment (hundreds, not thousands) and affordable monthly payments ($50–$100) make land ownership achievable. Residents eventually own the land outright.
OCP facilitates marketing, advertising, project development, education, tech training, agriculture, and more to ensure each project succeeds. Every OCP site integrates sustainable agriculture & renewable energy, and we advocate for building materials & volunteers to build homes for the homeless.
🤝 Community, Mentorship & Independence
Each OCP Community comes with mentors, volunteers, and staff from several Oklahoma organizations ready to assist! We create long-term stability and independence through hands-on training, accountability, and shared responsibility. Residents gain pathways from homelessness to permanent housing and financial independence.
Volunteer Camp
Each OCP has a small volunteer camp for volunteers of The OCP to serve the community. Volunteers range from mentors to builders to many positions. All volunteers are screened before being allowed onsite.

Down payment $350 + monthly $100 to own your land. A generator will be needed to start; OCP will build and equip a community center with a full kitchen, dining area, and gathering space. This community project blends rural peace with road-accessible utilities, offering a strong foundation for land ownership and mutual support.

Submitting this form begins a review process that typically takes 30–90 days. In cases where no land donations or partnerships are immediately available, the process may take significantly longer.

If you submit this form, you will be placed on a waiting list. When land is donated or a partnership is formed, OCP will contact applicants. Free land recipients are still expected to contribute to community building and pay minimal monthly association fees (typically $50–$100) for shared amenities like water, electric, and infrastructure.
